Anyone who has been following this blog for even a short amount of time has probably noticed that we have had some set-backs this summer. Between the garden soil, the incubations, the garden pests, chicks with split wing, and some other things we have definitely not had the picture perfect, tied with a pretty bow, farm experience. But does that even exist?
Whether it exists or not matters very little to us. It is important to us that this blog be a transparent view into life on our little farm. REAL life. No sugar-coating. The good and the bad. The success and the failure. And it is also very important to us that this blog help others who are trying to do what we are doing (or want to in the future). We want it to be educational. We want people to learn from our successes…AND our failures. There are many times I see something on a blog that we want to try out in the future and I think “I’ll watch and see how it turns out before we try that.” I want people to be able to do that with this blog as well. And so we share it all.
We appreciate you all cheering us on as you follow us through all these ups and downs, and hoping for the best with us.
One thing that we want to make abundantly clear is that we are so blessed. We are blessed to have this farm. We are blessed to be able to grow our own food (plant and animal). We are blessed through the successes AND we are blessed through the failures. We love this life and this journey and this homestead.
I love the saying “the same wind blows on us all, what determines your journey is how you set your sails.”
So as we continue forward with this adventure and this blog, no matter which way the wind is blowing, we are continuing to set our sails on thankfulness because no matter what…we are blessed.
