We are happy to have you visiting us!
I am Kat, wife to an amazing man, Daniel, for 22 years now. We have been blessed with 5 children. Two girls: “Sunshine” (16) and “Little Miss” (14). And three boys: “Young Man” (18), “Braveheart” (13), and “Mr. Smiles” (6).
I enjoy being a wife and homemaker, homeschooling mom, farm girl, writer, and helping my husband run our custom fiber processing mill.
For 14 years we homesteaded in the high-altitude Rockies, and then in the spring of 2021 we moved and have begun expanding our flocks and building a new farm on the High Plains of Colorado. We breed and raise milk sheep, specialty wool sheep, Nubian goats, chickens, and ducks.
In this blog we are sharing our journey as we homestead to provide natural, home-raised food for our family. Come walk with us and learn through the ups and downs of family farming!

Bummer, they were all so adorable, now they’re chickens. Not that chickens are bad, just less than totally adorable.
Cool way of sharing with the rest of us the progression.

They are so cute! I love the patterns that Rhode Island Reds get on their first set of wing feathers.
